Lin Tian looked at the pond and frowned, "There used to be a snake guarding the Blue Snake Grass here; I don’t know why it hasn’t appeared. Could it really have been eaten by the Black Water King Snake?"

"Are you talking about the Blue Snake?" Xu Feibai asked.

Lin Tian nodded, still wanting to say something when suddenly the calm water surface churned and bubbled. A blue shadow quickly surfaced, and with a loud bang, a large Blue Snake emerged from the water.

The two retreated a few meters, avoiding the icy pond water; Lin Tian expected another battle, only for the Blue Snake to roll on the ground instead of attacking.

"Whoa, the Blue Snake is laying an egg." Lin Tian exclaimed, mouth agape.

Then Lin Tian thought of a question and was even more astonished, "There’s only one Blue Snake in the frozen cave; how did it lay an egg by itself?"

Xu Feibai frowned, pondering for a moment, "From a biological reproduction perspective, it’s possible. There’s just one female Blue Snake here and one male Black Water King Snake. For the sake of continuing their lineage, mating is possible. Reproducing offspring is the instinct of every living being."

However, it seems only months have passed since the White Snake met the Black Water King Snake; such quick egg-laying, wouldn’t ancient beasts differ from ordinary snakes? But how long snakes take to lay eggs, Lin Tian wasn’t too sure.

The Blue Snake rolled again and finally noticed Lin Tian and Xu Feibai; it coiled its body around the egg, lifted its head, and watched them warily.

"Don’t worry, we mean no harm..." Lin Tian waved his hand, stepping back with Xu Feibai to show no hostility.

If it came to fighting beasts, Lin Tian wouldn’t hold back, but he couldn’t bring himself to kill an egg-laying snake, especially since the Blue Snake posed no threat to them now.
