Chapter 1239 1150: Red and Green Gourd

Chapter 1239 1150: Red and Green Gourd

In front of Qinrong Palace.

Hundreds of people stood there, gazing at the magnificent palace before them, surrounded by layers of gray mist.

Though from a distance, this mist seemed innocuous, as they drew nearer, they realized this layer was a potent Yin Death Qi, even more formidable than the death energy emitted from Black Kun Stone.

Faced with this deathly mist, apart from three Demon Venerables and two Half-Venerables who plunged into it, the rest hesitated to move forward.

Watching the five Half-Venerable and above powerhouses drift further into the Yin Death Qi, the crowd grew anxious.

Although they could all use Magic Power to create shields, protecting themselves from the invasion of the Yin Death Qi.

However, no one knew how far this mist extended.

If their Magic Power failed halfway, wouldn't they be doomed to fall prey to the Qi?

At this moment, suddenly a man dressed in a red robe emerged from the crowd, without any hesitation, diving into the gray mist in pursuit of the five powerhouses.

The surrounding crowd recognized this red-robed man, and exclaimed in surprise.

"Isn't that Imperial Censor Jia Mo?"

"Indeed, he's only at the Demon Emperor level, yet dares to be so bold?"

"If an Imperial Censor isn't afraid, what fear should we have?"

Inspired by the red-robed Imperial Censor Jia Mo, the surrounding crowd became excited, immediately heading into the gray mist.

Only an elderly man with a white beard, who had just arrived, was startled; though familiar with the robe, he was even more acquainted with the Human Skin Mask on Imperial Censor Jia Mo's face.

Others wouldn't recognize it, but he had possessed this Magical Treasure for decades, and knew it well.

The white-bearded old man cautiously produced several Magical Treasures to protect himself, avoiding the red-robed individual, advancing forward slowly.

Seeing the white-bearded old man being a Demon Saint yet not as carefree as Imperial Censor Jia Mo, the crowd secretly scorned him.

However, they didn't know that this Jia Mo was not the original Jia Mo anymore.

At this moment, in the gray mist, the red-robed Imperial Censor Jia Mo sped forward, a shield of Magic Power forming around him. As he advanced, the gray mist naturally parted, moving to the sides.

Ahead of the red-robed man were two Half-Venerable powerhouses, ahead of them were three Demon Venerable powerhouses.

Though the red-robed man was slower than the three Demon Venerables, he was much faster than the two Half-Venerables; soon he would catch up to the Half-Venerables.

However, just as he was about to be noticed by the two Half-Venerables, the red-robed man stopped.

In fact, this red-robed man Jia Mo was Wang Yan.

Earlier outside Qinrong Palace, Wang Yan had snatched the Human Skin Mask from the white-bearded old man, immediately transforming into the red-robed man, mingling with the Demon Emperors to enter Qinrong Palace.

Pity the white-bearded old man had carefully devised everything, only to benefit Wang Yan in the end.

Though Wang Yan had shifted his identity, he didn't want to draw attention from the five Venerable Tier powerhouses too soon.

But if he lagged behind them, he feared once they entered Qinrong Palace, they wouldn't leave any good treasures for him.

Wang Yan couldn't just pick a few trinkets like the ordinary Demon Emperors and Demon Saints.

Standing there pondering, Wang Yan smiled slightly, raised his hand, and Little Wolf landed on the ground beside him.

The place was filled with Yin Death Qi, making everyone uncomfortable, except Little Wolf, who was made of Yin Death Qi himself and felt more at ease in the gray mist.

Wang Yan pointed ahead and said, "Go ahead, scout the path, don't get caught."

Little Wolf nodded. With a light step, he bypassed the five powerhouses and sped ahead, disappearing into the gray mist.

Once in the gray mist, Little Wolf was like a fish in water, quickly blending with the mist.

Needless to say, Little Wolf made a large detour, keeping a great distance from the five; even if he passed right by them, they probably wouldn't notice.

With Little Wolf scouting, Wang Yan was no longer in a rush, trailing behind the five.

After traversing several miles, the gray mist gradually thinned, indicating they had almost reached the edge.

At this moment, the three Demon Venerables halted.

Venerable Ghost Valley said, "You two, ahead is the first main hall of Qinrong Palace, and at the main entrance, it's said there's a Red and Green Gourd."

Venerable Zidan responded, "Only one gourd among the three of us, how do we split it?"

As Venerable Zidan spoke, all three had vigilance shining in their eyes.

Venerable Fuqing smiled slightly, saying, "The gourd itself isn't valuable, but inside are several dozen three-thousand-year-old supreme medicinal pills, truly priceless. We can divide those pills when the time comes."

Venerable Ghost Valley laughed, "Venerable Fuqing is truly clever. Let's settle on that. But near the Red and Green Gourd, there are two Venerable Tier guard statues specifically guarding the gourd. Once the gourd is taken, these statues will madly attack us. Though we three can destroy them, it will take considerable effort."

Venerable Fuqing smiled again, saying, "As Venerable Ghost Valley mentioned, the guard statues don't move if the gourd isn't touched. Why don't we first destroy the statues, then retrieve the gourd?"

Venerable Ghost Valley and Venerable Zidan clapped their hands simultaneously, saying, "Brilliant strategy, Venerable Fuqing is truly astute!"

Venerable Fuqing smiled slightly, unable to hide his pride.

However, he failed to notice the simultaneous flashes of fear and murderous intent in Venerable Ghost Valley and Venerable Zidan's eyes.

Bear in mind, Venerable Ghost Valley and Venerable Zidan were immensely intelligent themselves; they certainly had thought of destroying the statues first.

Yet they feigned ignorance to prevent others from fearing them too much.

Only Venerable Fuqing, being oblivious, showed off his cleverness, enjoying a brief exaltation, unaware he had become a thorn in Ghost Valley and Zidan's eyes, a target of animosity.

While the three hadn't clashed yet, he'd likely become the primary target once heavy treasures were contested.

The three Venerables agreed on their strategy, knowing once they were out of the gray mist, as long as they didn't touch the gourd, they'd be safe, thus they boldly emerged from the haze.

They planned to assess how to shatter the guard statues, then retrieve the Red and Green Gourd and divide the pills within.

The trio emerged confidently from the gray mist, looking forward.

Surely, the scene resembled their imagination: Before them stood a massive palace, and in the clearing before it, an Alchemy Furnace sat, flames still flickering within.

On either side of the furnace stood towering guard statues, over three meters high.

Venerable Fuqing pointed at the guard statues, smiling, "Now the statues aren't activated, let's consider how to destroy them."

As Venerable Fuqing spoke, he glanced at the guard statues ahead.

Yet upon seeing the statues, Venerable Chi Fuqing paled and cried out, "Not right, why are these statues alive?"

Simultaneously, Venerable Ghost Valley pointed to the Alchemy Furnace's side, shouting, "Not right, wasn't the Red and Green Gourd supposed to hang beside the furnace? It's been taken!"

Indeed, the space beside the furnace was bare, no sign of a Red and Green Gourd at all.
