Chapter 601: Car Accident
Chapter 601: Car Accident
On the bus headed to the city, Zhou Yaling, staring blankly out the window at the farmland, suddenly thought of something.
It seemed like all the glass in the villa was soundproof.
She remembered that her big brother once said that all the glass in the villa was made of bulletproof tempered glass, and it was vacuum double-layered.
Anyone who has studied junior high school physics knows that sound cannot travel in a vacuum.
Although true vacuum couldn’t be achieved inside the tempered glass, normal soundproofing was still easy to achieve.
That meant that half an hour ago, when she was shouting at Candy as she left, Candy couldn’t hear a thing.
Zhou Yaling touched her face, feeling a bit feverish. Fortunately, there were only five people, including the driver, on the bus heading to the city center’s South Station, and they were all sitting very scattered.
As she thought about it, Zhou Yaling’s eyes showed a bit of resentment.
The little guy watched her shout so eagerly without even replying.
On the two-meter wide bed, Candy turned over, scratched her neck, and then fell silent again.
Cramped together in a cat bed, Little Grey and Bun didn’t even lift an eyelid.
In the over-thirty-square-meter bedroom, only the gurgling snores of Bun could be heard.
Unable to help herself, Zhou Yaling sent another message and waited for a long time without a reply, then snorted proudly.
Just then, Zhou Yaling heard the young man in the couple sitting behind her shout a classic profane phrase.
"Holy shit!"
Curiously, Zhou Yaling raised her head to look back and was shocked. Her body hair stood on end, her eyes widened, and the scene before her made her forget to scream.
The next second, there was a loud crash, and the entire bus veered off the highway.
For a moment, Zhou Yaling only felt her whole person flying up.
Fortunately, since she returned to work at her big brother’s company last year, she developed the habit of wearing a seatbelt on her commute under Candy’s supervision and reminders.
In an instant, feeling like she was about to be thrown out of the window, Zhou Yaling was pulled back by the seatbelt before she could react.
The couple sitting behind her wasn’t so lucky.
Zhou Yaling watched as the couple and another middle-aged female passenger flew up to the ceiling of the bus.
As the bus rolled over in the farmland, the three of them tumbled around inside the bus.
The next moment, an incredulous Zhou Yaling saw the middle-aged woman thrown out of a shattered window.
Even worse, as the bus sank into the farmland’s dirt, it rolled back, crushing the woman.
Temporarily deafened, Zhou Yaling hung upside down, dazed, in her seat by the seatbelt.
Her phone, a gift from her big brother, had fallen somewhere, emitting an ear-piercing alarm sound.
Slowly, Zhou Yaling fainted.
Three seconds after the accident, Zero, detecting a severe drop in Zhou Yaling’s phone via the network, was shocked.
Through the phone’s camera, along with several data points, Zero realized that the bus Zhou Yaling was on had an accident and had overturned severely.
While reporting it to the authorities, Zero immediately notified the Boss sitting in the living room, sipping tea and watching the morning news.
"Boss, Zhou Yaling got into an accident ten seconds ago, and the current situation is unknown."
"The video from the phone’s camera only shows complete darkness."
Upon hearing this, Mo Jingchun’s face changed dramatically.
He prayed in his heart that Zhou Yaling wouldn’t be harmed.
Just moments ago, he was thinking about how he would have to get used to no one cooking once Zhou Yaling returned to school.
Little did he know, this would happen the next second.
Without a word, Mo Jingchun rushed up to the third floor.
"Inform Wild Wolf to be ready to leave immediately."
"Understood, Boss."
On the third floor, Candy, who was sleeping soundly, opened her eyes in confusion.
Huh, why is she putting on clothes?
Before Candy could react, Mo Jingchun, holding Candy in one hand and a pair of shoes in the other, rushed downstairs.
By the time Mo Jingchun ran out the door, the car had just stopped outside the yard.
With a bang, Xiaofeixia, who was driving, was startled, and accidentally honked the horn.
"Zero, synchronize navigation to the location."
"Understood."
Seeing the boss’s serious expression, combined with the urgency, everyone realized the gravity of the situation.
Without asking why, Xiaofeixia took one look at the navigation location and accelerated out.
On the highway, pulled out of the bus and placed on the edge of a field by the driver, Zhou Yaling had regained consciousness.
There was a cut on her hand, bleeding, likely from something sharp, but Zhou Yaling didn’t notice it, just held her knees tightly, shivering uncontrollably.
Beside Zhou Yaling, the couple had also been rescued by the driver.
Compared to Zhou Yaling, they were unfortunate, both lying on the ground groaning in pain, faces streaked with blood.
But compared to the middle-aged woman, the couple was lucky.
After the pile-up on the highway, everyone had moved to the farmland off the highway.
Next to the bus, half-submerged in the farmland, a crowd had gathered.
Looking at the pale hand sticking out, everyone remained silent.
It’s not that they were unwilling to help but that the deceased was beyond saving. Not to mention the joint effort required to move the bus out of the field was beyond reach, it was also inappropriate to disturb the departed at that moment.
Some even wondered if only that hand remained intact.
Fortunately, in this ten-vehicle collision, only one person died, the others were only injured.
Since only the bus veered off the highway, the most severely injured were naturally the passengers who weren’t wearing seatbelts.
The sound of sirens drew closer.
Seeing the ambulances, fire trucks, and police cars arrive at the scene, everyone felt somewhat relieved.
Sitting on the edge of the field, her eyes vacant, Zhou Yaling also looked up.
But compared to these public servants, Zhou Yaling at that moment more keenly wished to see her parents, her big brother, and Candy.
However, her phone was lost in some unknown corner.
Her hands still uncontrollably trembling, Zhou Yaling blankly watched the firefighters gather around the bus.
She knew there was no hope for the unfamiliar middle-aged woman.
If it weren’t for Candy’s constant reminders to always wear a seatbelt, whether she would still be alive sitting there was a real question mark.
The couple had already been taken away by an ambulance.
"Hello, please come with us to the hospital for a check-up."
A seemingly dazed Zhou Yaling shook her head, "Let the injured go first. I wore a seatbelt, it’s only shock that I’m dealing with."
The nurse glanced at Zhou Yaling, simply treated the wound on her hand, and then left.
With a sudden stop, Mo Jingchun, who had rushed over from home, spoke to Feiyan before getting out of the car:
"Feiyan, stay in the car and watch over Candy."
Without giving Feiyan a chance to respond, Mo Jingchun was already running toward the crowd.
