"I understand." Logan responded, "I just want to find Evelyn now and confirm she’s safe."

As for other matters, he wanted to slowly fight for them.

"Don’t worry, brother will help you." Liam’s tone carried a deep meaning that Logan couldn’t comprehend.

"As soon as you find Evelyn’s whereabouts, let me know immediately." Logan whispered, "Brother, thank you."

Liam agreed, then promptly hung up the phone.

Standing on the rooftop, Liam held a cocktail in his hand, swirling the glass, his lips curled into a very faint smile.

About a minute later, Liam took out his phone and called L.

"It seems things are not developing as you expected." Liam’s tone was indifferent, "Evelyn Morgan is not with Logan; instead, they... had an argument."

"An argument?" L raised the tone, sounding somewhat surprised.

L had long investigated the weight of big brother in Evelyn Morgan’s heart, yet she did not know who big brother was.

So, L deliberately deceived Evelyn Morgan, saying big brother was Logan.

L originally thought that, under the misconception that big brother was Logan, Evelyn Morgan would definitely be with Logan and thus leave Caden Lockwood.

"You don’t need to speculate about my identity. I truly hope Evelyn and Logan will be together." L coldly replied, "Remember my advice, do not do anything to harm Evelyn. Otherwise, not only will you fail to get what you want from me, but even what you have now, I will make you lose!"

Liam scoffed, very mockingly in the face of L’s threat.

"I have a backup plan." L said without a good tone, "You need not worry."

Once he finished speaking, L hung up the phone.

Listening to the busy tone on the phone, Liam tightened his grip on the glass as if he wanted to crush the fragile cup.

All along, Liam hoped to make The Shaw Family stronger and bigger, ideally becoming the most dominant company in Atheria.

But, unfortunately, Caden Lockwood always stood in his way.

From childhood to adulthood, Liam had always been compared to Caden Lockwood by his family. Every failed comparison left him feeling the helplessness of his family.
