Chapter 1279: Total Domination
Chapter 1279: Total Domination
"Let’s have some fun, snake," Evan said, and immediately the demonic serpent’s eyes glowed red.
[You bastard!] it roared, springing out of the water and snapping its forked tail toward Evan.
The tail sliced through the neck of the Frostborne Colossus and slammed into the side of Evan, who was standing on its shoulder, knocking him off and sending him down onto the ground.
[!]
The serpent’s yellow eyes widened a second later, as Evan, who should’ve been flattened by its tail, was revealed standing on both legs within the crater his fall to the ground created, both arms locked around the spike of the serpent’s tail.
’Adamantine Might.’
"Burn, Mesarthim."
Immediately, Evan’s body erupted with prismatic flames that raced up the serpent’s body, making it scream and writhe like an earthworm that had salt poured over it.
It tried to fling Evan off its body, but Evan held on tight with the enhanced grip strength from Adamantine Might, his flames continuing to race up the hundred-metre-long serpent’s length.
The serpent screeched and unleashed a pressurised water breath toward its tail, and only then did Evan finally let go, using Space Warp as he did so and leaving the serpent with one final burst of spatial damage that completely shattered the spiked scales and bone around its tail tip.
Hissing angrily, the serpent activated several skills, its scales glinting with a metallic sheen as the black water in the moat encircling the base churned, geysers erupting into the sky at several points.
These geysers curved through the air and shot toward Evan as whirling torrents of death, absorbing more ambient law energy as they locked onto him.
’Hmm, these homing attacks would be a massive pain.’
Evan calmly raised his hand and activated Burst Cannon, firing several fist-sized bolts of magic power at the pressurised beams, the detonations on impact scattering the water in every direction.
However, this black water, imbued with the serpent’s demonic energy, was special. It didn’t simply scatter to the ground, but instead compressed midair into spears that shot toward Evan, forcing him to teleport to avoid getting hit.
Just as he avoided the first wave, a large shadow fell over him, and he quickly blinked a dozen metres forward, barely avoiding the serpent’s head as it chomped down on his previous position.
Spinning around, he snapped his fingers and called down several bolts of lightning using Blue Judgment, but the serpent ignored the blasts, shrugging everything off with its Metallic Scales as it closed the distance in an instant.
Evan teleported with Space Warp, the burst of spatial energy left in his wake slamming into the serpent’s face, and just as he appeared in the air above it, another wave of black water projectiles descended toward him.
’Harbinger of Ice!’
His Mystic Eyes glowed as the mimicked skill was flooded with magic power, a powerful frost aura erupting from Evan’s body and freezing all the spears of water midair before they could reach him.
But when Evan tried to command the now-frozen water spears, he was surprised to find that despite being frozen with his ice, they didn’t bend to his will.
’I see. So that’s the effect of its unique skill. It’s really a waste to kill it...!’
He grinned as he flapped his wings and dashed away to avoid the serpent’s pressurised water breath, holding up his left hand and pulling it down.
’Devastation!’
The Rare Skill was activated for the first time in years, the sky fracturing with ominous cracks as bolts of crimson-gold lightning and destructive flames rained down across the entire base, igniting the ground below in chaos that consumed hundreds of Demonic Hand members.
’Gotta limit the range so I don’t affect Liz and Laurene in the west, or the spirits in the east.’
He condensed the skill’s AOE around the serpent, forcing it to dive back into the water to avoid being hit by the lightning and flames.
Evan was about to question its sanity for jumping into water when faced with lightning, however, demonic energy coursed out of the serpent’s body, and the entire moat froze in thick black ice in an instant.
"Oh, it’s not dumb," he remarked casually, opening his status board and scrolling through his skill list.
"Mehn, I have a lot of skills I haven’t used in years."
Just as he said that, he sensed arrows shooting toward his location, his left hand stretching out to summon an ice sword, which he swung to split the arrows in two, the force of his slash sending a projected wave of icy energy that split the land apart until it carved through the wall of the central fortress, where the Senior Member who shot at him was.
Given the casualness of the action, the slash was neither his full power nor full speed, and as such, the Legendary Level Demonic Human was able to dodge, but only barely.
’Ah. Fuck, I have to hold back so I don’t accidentally one-shot any Legendries. There’s no way we can kill all of them, so I need to limit how much power I allow them to see.’
His thoughts came to a stop as he used Space Warp to teleport and avoid the slash of another Senior Member that came from behind him, and just as he landed on the ground, he found himself surrounded on all sides by 8 Level 700 Senior Members.
Each one of them unleashed powerful attacks filled with strong mixtures of demonic and law energy, and faced with this onslaught, Evan stabbed the sword in his hands into the ground, the ice blade transforming into prismatic flames as he called out.
"Hydra!"
Erupting from the ground behind him were nine serpentine heads with different elemental law energies boiling in their maws, and by Evan’s will, they unleashed these energies as powerful breaths in all directions.
The result was a brilliant flash reminiscent of a nuclear bomb’s detonation, and then came the thunderous sound of the blast that echoed far beyond the Kudatha Mountains, reaching deep across the entire Region.
A violent dome of multi-coloured destruction expanded outward from the point of impact, the earth splitting beneath the overwhelming pressure while waves of scorching heat, frost, and lightning consumed whatever remained of the north fortress and the connecting walls to the east and west fortresses.
All 8 Senior Members were instantly incapacitated by the blasts, and Evan activated Lethe within the explosion, rushing over to the nearest one whose skin had been scorched completely by his prismatic flames.
’And I literally just said I should hold back...’
He scolded himself internally with a sigh as he grabbed the head of the unconscious Demonic Human and activated a Skill.
"Dominator’s Decree."
The energy of a universal law Evan wasn’t familiar with gathered around the man’s body, coiling around his limbs and entering through his orifices.
His body trembled violently, and he vomited blood as Total Domination took hold. Immediately, Evan felt a slight decrease in his magic power, alongside a slight increase in his vitality.
’I’m assuming it’s not just my vitality that increased, but that’s just what I noticed first.’
With that thought, he summoned a high-grade vitality potion from his inventory and stuffed it into the man’s mouth.
The potion took effect almost immediately, and the man’s vitality recovered enough for him to regain consciousness, his eyes widening in shock the moment he saw Evan’s face.
"Kill your comrades. That’s an order."
With just those words, Evan tossed his body aside, and the man rolled across the burning ground, groaning in pain from his injuries.
He forced himself back to his feet and looked around, unable to find even a trace of Evan, but before he could start wondering why Evan had given him a vitality potion, he suddenly found himself activating his Unique Skill.
’Huh?’
His body moved against his will, and he charged straight into the smoke, a spear of demonic energy forming in his raised hands before he brought it crashing down into the chest of his wounded fellow Senior Member.
’What the—?! No! Stop! Why won’t my—!’
No matter how desperately he resisted, he couldn’t stop his hand from stabbing through the chest of the unconscious Demonic Elf, piercing their heart and killing them instantly.
He levelled up twice, more of his injuries healing from the level up, and then, as a powerful gust of wind swept away some of the smoke and flames around him, he looked up just in time to see Evan leap into the air and throw his fist toward the tail of the Demonic Serpent that lived in the moat surrounding the base.
